The recent brutal return of winter to the UK has brought with it some ideal late Easter skiing conditions across parts of Europe. The Snow Sandwich which dumped mainly across the northern Alps brought fresh falls to the border regions of Italy, Switzerland and France, before moving west and lowering temperatures, dropping the snow level to 1000m in places.

Where is the new snow?

The resorts of Saas-Fee, Cervinia, the Monte Rosa Region, Andermatt, St Moritz received an unexpected Easter top up of 50-80cm. While the western Alps received a 20-60cm dusting on the peaks as the storm clouds past over. This perfect timing of the latest European snowfall has opened up ideal opportunities to snap up a budget ski break for parents with activity hungry children. And with the sterling to euro exchange rate still hovering around the 1:1.17 ratio it’s probably the best time to afford a family ski trip ahead of all the Brexit changes to come
