Creative scribbling from interesting places
33 words is a web app which provides an ingenious method of sharing a location with a 3mx3m space anywhere in the world by creating a 33 word scribble.
What is a 33 word scribble?
A 33 word scribble is a short piece of creative writing of no more than 33 words using a unique 3 word address, supplied by the what3words API.
How does 33 words work?
33 words is a creative extension of the software what3words. what3words is a plug-in for businesses and individuals, via an API.
The what3words software delivers a more accurate method of identifying a location than a postal address and is much easier to remember, use and share than a set of coordinates. The what3words universal addressing system is based on a 3mx3m global grid. Each of the 57 trillion 3mx3m squares in the world has been pre-allocated a fixed and unique 3 word address. The what3words geocoder at the heart of the system turns geographic coordinates into 3 word addresses.
33 words taps into the user’s location and provides them with 3 unique words to use in a quick piece of creative writing called a scribble.
This project has reached stage one (initial design and concept realisation and is scheduled for further development in August 2017.
